STEP 1: PICK YOUR BLOCK
Make sure you pick the right size block for your grill.
A starter size would be about an 8x8x2 inch block
STEP 2: HEAT SLOWLY
Slow and steady wins the race on this one, especially the first few times you use the block
The Golden Rule of heating a salt black
20 min. on low
20 min. on medium
20 min. on high
Sprinkle a few drops of water on the block and if it sizzles and disappears immediately, the block is ready
STEP 3: PLACE STEAK ON THE BLOCK
Make sure the whole steak is set on the block for even grilling
STEP 4: FLIP THE STEAK
Use a thin metal spatula or tongs, NO PLASTIC!
Cooking Time:
1-2 min. per side for any thin steak
4-5 min. per side for any thicker cuts of meat
Cook to preferred temperature
STEP 4: CLEAN AND STORE THE SALT BLOCK
Let the block cool for 1 hour or until cool to the touch
Important tips to keep in mind when getting ready to clean the block
Moisten a sponge or scouring pad with NO SOAP
Scrub the block to remove any stuck on mess
Wipe the block clean with a dry towel and repeat until all the food scraps are gone
Leave the block out to air dry and you can store it anywhere
