This Fall, AmeriGas teamed up with our colleagues from UGI to support some very worthy charitable causes: the United Way and breast cancer research.
The level of employee participation reflects how deeply our employees care about giving back to the communities we serve – and that is a stat we are very proud of. In September, our annual United Way campaign had a whopping 76% employee participation and raised nearly $340,000 to contribute to the organization’s mission to improve lives by mobilizing communities and supporting causes that promote the common good.
In October, the spotlight turned to breast cancer awareness and research with a month of “Pink Out” events sponsored by our Women’s Impact Network (WIN). Fundraising efforts were supported by these events, as well as t-shirt sales with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society, The Gathering Place, and Paint the Planet Pink.
According to the American Cancer Society, more than 300,000 women in the US were diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2024 and breast cancer accounts for more than 30% of all new female cancer cases annually.
With more than $7,000 raised to support ongoing education and research surrounding breast cancer, we are proud to contribute to efforts designed to provide better methods for prevention, earlier detection, more effective treatment options, and improved quality of life for patients. Ultimately, we hope for a future marked by better experiences and increasing survival rates for anyone faced with a breast cancer diagnosis.
We are grateful to our employees for their compassion, generosity and sincere enthusiasm for these causes. To stay current on how AmeriGas is supporting the communities we are so proud to serve, be sure to follow our blog and our Facebook page.
