Weathering the Winter – Tips for Safe & Efficient Deliveries

Spring is on the horizon, but we’re not free and clear of winter weather and its challenges quite yet. Many areas of the country continue to deal with snow and ice, so please keep the below tips in mind if you’re expecting your next propane delivery soon. They’ll help ensure that your propane can get to you safely and efficiently, so the rest of your winter can be spent in cozy comfort.
The key is to keep things clear!
- Clear your driveway – Our bobtails are broad! Please clear a path at least 10 feet wide so we can navigate your driveway safely. Our trucks are also very heavy, so ice on even small inclines can pose a problem. Salt or ice melt should be used on any slippery areas the truck or our team of Propane Pros will need to drive or walk.
- Clear your equipment – Keeping snow and ice away from outdoor vents, chimneys and flues allow them to function properly. Use a broom instead of a shovel whenever possible to avoid damage to your propane system components.
- Clearly mark your tank location – Whether your tank is above or below ground, marking its location with a flag or stake that is higher than the average snowfall depth for your area enables our team to locate it easily, and signals for snowplow drivers and others to steer clear.
